Tradewind Recruitment are delighted to announce an exciting opportunity to join a leading Community-based Secondary School in Waltham Forest as an English Teacher in September.

With a capacity of 700, this school has a strong community feel and Tradewind staff have enjoyed the vibrancy and supportive nature of the whole setting environment. The school operate up to Year 11 and are proud of their most recent set of GCSE results, with over 90% of students gaining access to their chosen Post 16 education provider.

The English department has a vision of brining English to life, with preparing a literate 21st Century student at the bedrock of their curriculum. This vision is highlighted by the resources in the English department featuring iPads, Laptops and up to date written literature preparing students understanding and competency for the texts they will encounter in adult life. The English department at the school is led by a Head of Department who has been with the school for over 5 years, and has overseen a fantastic rise in student achievement. They are a friendly team looking to inspire a love of English amongst students.

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and inspiring Englishlessons across Key Stage 3 - 4
  • English Language and Literature - OCR Syllabus.
  • Support with the planning and organising of school trips.
  • Planning inspiring lessons that promote a love of literature
  • Embrace the role of a form tutor, supporting students' personal growth and developments.

The role:

  • Immediate start
  • Temporary appointment until Christmas, potential to be extended.
  • Full-Time, Part-Time applications could be considered.
  • Outer London MPS / UPS
  • Interviews w/c 18th Sept'

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or international equivalent
  • Enhanced DBS certificate
  • Open to Early Career Teachers (ECTs), offering a supportive and growth-oriented environment.
  • Right to work in the UK
  • A strong drive and determination to progress students' artistic skills and overall learning.
